The Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards *Seneca Santa Charity Party benefiting the underprivileged children of Schuyler County begins at 12:00 p.m. and continues until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10th at Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards & Winery. A ten-dollar entry donation will be collected at the door, and each guest 21 and over will receive a souvenir Seneca Santa wine glass. The event will feature live music kicking off with Bob Walpole and finishing the day out with the Seneca Santa Blues Band. Join celebrity guest bartenders and the Red Cat as we gather for the kids!
You will rarely have a chance to have this much fun while knowing that the money you pull from your pockets throughout the day will provide a Christmas gift for a disadvantaged child from the area. The day will be filled with music, dancing, food, wine,raffles and games with incredible prizes donated by businesses from the region. Prizes include tickets to Seneca Lake Wine Trail events, Syracuse Basketball and NASCAR Racing at the Glen. Dining and overnight accommodation packages have been added by some of the areas finest restaurants and lodging facilities, making these prizes perfect weekend getaways to enjoy the splendor of Seneca Lake and our fabulous Finger Lakes wine region! *Seneca Santa, a not for profit corporation, was founded by a group of Watkins Glen businessmen in the 1940’s to provide Christmas gifts for Schuyler County’s underprivileged children birth to age twelve. In 2009 the organization will be serving over 400 children from over 175 families in the county. Seneca Santa will accept donations of money, hats, mittens, coloring books & crayons, family board games and children's books. Seneca Santa depends exclusively on community support to fund its charitable efforts. Monies raised are used to provide an age appropriate toy along with fruit, holiday snacks as well as the gifts previously mentioned. The event at Hazlitt’s has raised over $171,000 during its 14-year run. Last year alone over $20,000 was raised.
